The museum is a living and expanding memorial to all miners, and to the rich history of gold mining activities in the Bohemia Mining District.
The Noonday Trail was originally constructed in 1896 as a wagon road for hauling supplies and equipment into the Bohemia Mining District. This wagon road once extended from Disston to Grizzly Mountain although newer roads have since replaced and crossed over portions of the original route.
